DESCRIPTION:Our next meeting is set for Saturday\, November 16th\, from 10:30am to noon. We plan to talk about important preparations for getting your hives ready for the winter.  We will focus on the key elements: food stores\, ventilation\, varroa mite treatment and insulation. \nWhere:  Rainbeau Ridge\, 49 David’s Way\, Bedford Hills (please park on the farm’s side of the street if there is no more room in the farm’s driveway). \nWhat: We will talk about food stores and honey location within the hive\, do an oxalic acid treatment for pre-winter varroa mite control\, set up the hive’s ventilation/moisture control and place a wind break behind the hives. \nNote: There are several methods that people prefer to use over the winter\, so please share the methods that work for you when you join us! \nIn the meantime\, we hope that you are assessing the health of your hives and ensuring you have a good population and good food stores for your honeybees.  (Consider combining hives that are disease-free but perhaps small and feed the hives that are low on food.)

Come visit the apiary at historic Hilltop Hanover Farm and celebrate National Honey Bee Day! This family event is free and open to the public. Observe bees in the apiary\, view live bees in an observation hive\, learn about honey harvesting\, sample local honey\, visit our beautiful pollinator garden\, learn about plants that attract bees\, and more. Honey and bee products will be available for sale. All proceeds will benefit Hilltop Hanover Farm.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our next meeting\, Sunday\, April 15th\, from 1-3pm. \nWe are so lucky to have Kathi & Jerry Canet offer to host us at their apiary. \n37 Christopher Road\, Bedford Corners\, NY \nThis meeting will focus on performing an early mite test on your hive.  We will compare a few different versions of the tests and discuss treatments that can be used\, if necessary. \nPlease bring your veils/jackets/gloves as you wish to have — this will be a hands-on demonstration. \nThere is no fee for the meeting.  We hope to see you there!
